The citation mapping tool tracks an article’s cited and citing references through two generations, allowing researchers to visually discover an article’s wider relationships:
When you view a full record for an individual article you will see a link labeled “Citation Map (beta)”. This link will let you generate visual maps looking backward, forward or both, beginning with your original article. You can also click on any article in the map to view its citations. This powerful new visualization tool allows you to map citation relationships and understand the meaning of a cited reference search. It joins other Web of Science tools such as Citation Alerts, Citation Reports, and Related Records which is based on shared references.
